I knew I wanted to help people–I wanted to be in service–but wasn’t always sure of the best way how.
My path began in healthcare behind a pharmacy counter, and over the course of more than three decades wound circuitously throughout the entire industry. From Pharmacist to CEO to President to Business Owner. Across a dozen different organizations, including multiple CXO roles at a $3.5B health insurance and services company. My path wasn’t linear, nor necessarily logical. I knew I wanted to help people–I wanted to be in service–but wasn’t always sure of the best way how. So I kept exploring–all the while absorbing an incredible amount of working knowledge of a very complex industry.

Toward the end of my executive career, my youngest daughter had a health scare and had to undergo two frightening neurosurgeries. I shifted companies and roles so that I could be close to her. I experienced what all of us in healthcare do at some point.
How humbling it is being on the other side.
Though I’d always been a people-first leader, I returned to work with a renewed focus on leadership-development. I began to develop tools to help others grow into more resilient, compassionate, authentic, and impactful leaders through a series of meaningful inner work. And I was seeing incredible results.
My experience with my daughter brought into clear relief how everything that happens at the executive level ultimately impacts the patient. It also clarified something, something I’d already known about the industry, but I’d failed to fully understand how damaging it was. The care-force and service population are woefully underrepresented in our executive offices–and it shows. It shows in job dissatisfaction and burnout. It shows in the care. It shows in the disconnect between our purpose and process.
I knew I wanted to do something to change that.
Because I believe in the power of diverse teams of people lifting each other up to meet a common goal. I believe that diversity of thought and experience lead to better, more compassionate solutions.
My mission as an Executive Catalyst is to help diverse, humanistic leaders thrive: identify and meet professional goals, find greater personal fulfillment, accelerate the growth of the organizations they lead and deepen the impact those organizations have on their communities.
